Equipment

  • slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 2 lb fresh green beans rinse'em and trim'em (cut of the ends)
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken stock
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions

  • Cut the bacon into small pieces and cook over medium heat until the bacon is fully rendered and crispy.
  • use butter or oil and coat the slow cooker so it's non-stick
  • Add green beans, chicken stock, cooked bacon, salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 6 hours or high heat for 3 hours or until beans reach your desired level of tenderness. I like my beans a little firmer so I like to cook them for just 3 hours until dinner is being eaten.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
